- Senate has approved an optional Campus Carry Syllabus Statement for faculty use beginning with the summer semester. This statement, vetted by the Office of General Counsel, allows faculty to prohibit concealed pistols and revolvers in their sole occupancy office, as defined in question #10 of the Campus Carry FAQ.
- The Faculty Senate will not convene in June, and the next scheduled meeting is September 9, 2024. Dr. Diana Davis, School of Medicine, will assume the role of Faculty Senate Chair on July 1, 2024.
- WVU will be launching the First Day Complete course material program on July 22 for WVU undergraduate students. This is an automatic opt-in program for students. Faculty are advised to review the site and associated FAQ page for information. Students may choose to opt out of the program on a semester-to-semester basis, with an August 30 opt-out deadline for the fall term.
- The Shared Governance Committee received 126 applications for the Presidential Search Committee. Following a thorough selection process, the committee identified six candidates and six alternate candidates to present to Faculty Senate for approval. Faculty Senate voted to approve the list of candidates, which will be forwarded to the Board of Governors Ad Hoc Governance Committee, who will select three faculty representatives for the available Presidential Search Committee seats. - Senate has approved the College of Creative Arts and Media constituency, effective July 1.
- Dr. Scott Crichlow (Eberly) has been elected as Chair-Elect of Faculty Senate for the 2024-2025 year.

- Teaching and Assessment Committee - Student Perception of Teaching Updates (PDF)
- Faculty Senate voted to approve adopting the new Student Perception of Teaching instrument at the March 4, 2024 Faculty Senate meeting. The Teaching and Assessment Committee will be distributing additional information and updates on implementation later this spring.
- Unit Review Summaries have been posted on the Transformation website and are available for review. You will find that the Non-Academic and Support Units link summarizes 18 units, including areas such as Talent and Culture, Environmental Health, and Shared Services, and the analysis of director-level and above positions. Those documents are linked below for your convenience.
- Following the resignation of President Gilmer, Vice Provost Paul Kreider appointed interim campus president of Potomac State College effective March 15, 2024.
