The Shared Governance Committee received 126 applications for the Presidential Search Committee. Following a thorough selection process, the committee identified six candidates and six alternate candidates to forward to the Board of Governors Ad Hoc Governance Committee, which will select three faculty representatives for the available Search Committee seats. Faculty Senate voted to approve the list of candidates, which will be forwarded to Dr. Patrice Harris, chair of the Ad Hoc Governance Committee.

The Board of Governors has disclosed details about the composition and timeline of the search committee. Faculty members will occupy three seats on the committee, the largest representation of any group except for the Board itself. The Faculty Senate Shared Governance Committee is reviewing search committee applicants and plans to announce a list of six candidates at the May 6 Faculty Senate meeting. The list of candidates must be submitted to the BOG Ad Hoc Governance Committee by 5:00 p.m. on May 10, 2024, with that committee selecting three representatives out of the six supplied candidates.

The Ad Hoc Governance Committee will propose a full slate of candidates to the Board of Governors, which will complete a final review of nominees and endorse a final list of Search Committee members at a special BOG meeting on May 27, 2024.
