Student Experience Committee

Review and recommend policies related to student rights, responsibilities, conduct, due process, academic integrity, and student participation in University governance and campus life emphasizing the faculty role in these processes.  

Examine issues affecting student recruitment, enrollment, retention, persistence, graduation, academic achievement, and post-graduation success across undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.  

Review and promote effective faculty practices that contribute to student recruitment, engagement, mentoring, advising, experiential learning, persistence, retention, and academic success.  

Examine how faculty interactions, instructional practices, advising structures, mentoring relationships, and academic support efforts influence student outcomes and institutional success.  

Identify barriers affecting student participation and success, particularly barriers related to advising, accessibility, communication, transitions, academic preparedness, campus engagement, and access to resources.  

Encourage faculty participation in initiatives that strengthen student learning, professional development, career readiness, student engagement, and connection to the University community.  

Collaborate with relevant University offices and student organizations to support coordinated strategies that improve student recruitment, engagement, persistence, retention, and completion.  

Consider policies and strategies related to recruitment pipelines, orientation, transition support, advising systems, student support services, and persistence initiatives.  

Review institutional data and reports related to enrollment trends, retention, graduation, academic performance, student engagement, campus climate, and student experience measures, with attention to the role faculty play in these outcomes.  

Encourage practices that support student-centered learning environments, accessibility, academic support, student advocacy, and respectful campus dialogue.  

Advise the Faculty Senate on emerging issues affecting students and on opportunities for faculty leadership in advancing student success and institutional effectiveness.  

Promote collaboration among faculty, students, administration, and shared governance bodies in advancing student achievement, engagement, and overall institutional goals.
